Our Vision

Historic house built in 1789… Here’s our story

Our Operating Plan

The house we will use was built 1789 that once was a tavern and inn. It has four bedrooms and is in need of a great deal of repair. Once we complete interior projects that have left us with open wall construction, we will able to reapply with Eversource Energy programs to seek a new heating/AC unit as well as windows. We recently were accepted into the registry of state historical places. Through this registry we will have more opportunities for grants and other resources.

Once repairs are completed, we will need to fully furnish the home in a manner that is inviting and friendly as well as safe. We will need funding to provide suitable appliances that will accommodate four mothers and their children. A community computer as well as a good copy machine will be needed for the office. A large vehicle for transportation may also be needed.

Operations (continued)

Staff needed will depend on the skills of those that are able and willing to volunteer. Mandatory training will include financial and communication skills. These will likely be two different people. Another would be needed to help with connecting to outside resources that are specific to their individual needs. I will serve in a parenting/pastoral role as well as training in growing and preserving produce as well as some animal husbandry. The caring and management of farm animals and pets can be healing as well as teaching responsibility.

The mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health of these women will be taken into consideration and provided for in some way, shape, or form. One way that we will address these is through the discovery of the strengths and gifts that are uniquely theirs individually. Another is to address the need for healing from past wounding, coming to understanding themselves and others.

Statement Of Faith

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe the Son is Jesus Christ who became flesh to reveal God to man, to save us from our sin, and restore us into relationship with God the Father.
We believe in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. In the garden He gave mankind one restriction, but they chose to disobey. This disobedience was sin which brought separation from God and spiritual, as well as physical death. All of mankind are now born into this separate state by inheritance.
We believe the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross, is the complete and perfect sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sin. Salvation occurs when individuals choose to receive, believe, and confess their faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. We then receive the Holy Spirit who will lead us into all truth.
We believe as Christians, we are to be disciples who live by faith and obedience according to the Word of God and by daily yielding to the Holy Spirit. This life process transforms, matures, and conforms us into the likeness of Jesus.
We believe the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is head. We are called to be in connection with other believers as part of His body. Each person has been uniquely created as a specific part of the body, the church, and it is in the context of community that we find, develop, and mature our uniqueness.
We believe the entire Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and is without error. Therefore, we believe that the life-giving truth of the scripture is applicable to everything we do and think, as well as all aspects of human existence; we live from a Biblical perspective.
